True Story of Survival By Calidream Publishing This is Author Tina Brown's first installlment into the publishing industry, and she comes out strapped with her literary weaponry and combat boots, as she revisits her life growing up in the tough streets of Baltimore. When tragedy struck at a young age, Tina and her brother are left to survive on their own, until a close family member takes them under her wings. Having journeyed through the "school of hard knocks" Tina uses her street smarts and higher education to better herself. Yet, there's one more mountain to conquer, finding the right person to share her life with.I truly enjoyed this book. I felt it was honest, inspiring, and teaches people how to overcome trials even when it seems to be no light at the end of the tunnel. As a fan of autobiographies, I just added this novel to the top of my list.

I was touched by the openness of the author about the trials of her childhood had me routing for her. I loved how she was able to see positives among all the darkness. However at the end I began to lose interest. I am glad she has a strong connection to her God, however, this is not what I was expecting. I am sorry but I found the ending not to my liking.
