4 of 4 people found the following review helpful. One of the Best of the Sasha Novels By TomW I was privileged to get an eARC of this book and I was hooked from the start. It is a chilling tale about research into Dementia. I live in an area of Florida where this is a problem since our County has the 3rd oldest average age in the country, so I have been told. Dementia and Alzheimer Disease are generally described as problems of old age. Dr. Greta Allstrom heads up a research facility looking into ways to slow the progress of Dementia. She and her graduate student assistants are on the verge of a cure. Meanwhile, Sasha's husband, Leo, has been searching off and on for any information about his biological father, Sasha is busy with her law practice after taking a couple of months off for maternity leave. Leo has been doing duty as a house husband taking care of their twins, Finn and Fiona. All the above seems disjointed at first but the author ties these seemingly loose ends together rapidly in a spellbinding way. The action is steady and I was anxious to see what the next page would bring. All in all, a wonderful story and, in my opinion, one of the best in the Sasha McCandless series.

2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. Twins and a twin storyline By Suncoast This is the first Sasha MacIndless story since the birth of her twins, Finn and Fiona. She has just started work again two months after the birth leaving Leo as househusband caring for the twins. Fortunately, his job isn't demanding at the moment. He is great around the house and delivers the twins to Sasha's office at feeding time.Sasha finds herself involved in a pretty unbelievable story where a medical researcher trying to find a cure for dementia is harvesting brain tissue from people in her testing program when they die without their "informed consent". The researcher is involved with a shady and dangerous equity capital group that are funding her research.For years, Leo has been looking for his Vietnamese father who he has never met. One day, out of the blue, a messenger calls telling him that there is a man in Maine who has information about his father. When Leo meets him he is faced with one of the most difficult personal decisions he has ever had to make. The conclusion was emotional and unexpected.I felt that this book was lacking some of the easy going sparkles of Sasha's previous adventures. Maybe the sparkles will come back when the twins are toddlers - but then Leo may be looking after more babies.... 3.5 stars.

1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Another triumph for Melissa F. Miller By Richard J. Barbuto One of the things that Melissa Miller does extremely well is keep this series fresh. In this, her 8th book in the series, she has introduced characters not seen before and blends them into her cast of regulars without a hitch. Some authors will use the same characters with a mildly different plot. With those writers it is almost mandatory to read their books in the order they were written. I think it would be wise to read the first book in the series at the beginning. As for the next 7 any order is fine.Sasha and Leo, both very agreeable characters have recently married and are the loving parents of Finn and Fiona, the twins. This is obviously a huge change in the family relationships yet Miller pulls it off seamlessly.The story is, as always, new and fresh with characters from the medical research field and from big business. Miller writes very well and gives the reader enough information about each character to satisfy. I just finished Informed Consent and I want more!

And I have to say that I quite enjoyed it and definitely plan to read more books by her, especially in the Saints Squad series. The fact that I have a weakness for main characters that are military men doesn't hurt any. ;) I enjoyed meeting Craig who is a Navy SEAL but isn't so tough that he shuts out emotion. It helps that the squad he works with is mostly LDS (Mormon). As a newbie he still has a lot to learn, but things change quite a bit when he inadvertently runs into a famous young actress named Sienna Blake. Sienna is in the area to start filming an action movie and runs into Craig on the beach when Craig tackles her bodyguard thinking he's following her. Things pick up a bit when Craig's unit steps in to help with security at Sienna's sister's wedding reception. As Craig and Sienna's relation continues to develop despite Craig's unit leaving for a mission, both struggle with how to adapt to the other's very different lifestyle. But when it becomes apparent that someone is trying to hurt Sienna, Craig steps up his efforts to protect her with compromising his own identity. The romance between Sienna and Craig was a sweet one and developed relatively naturally (as naturally as a relationship between a movie star and a Navy SEAL can develop). The details of the mission Craig goes on is interesting and a bit nerve racking as Craig deals with the aftermath. And Sienna's ongoing struggles with publicity and privacy also add depth to the story.

I love the Saint Squad series and I love Traci Abramson's books. Happy is the day a new book comes out for me to delve into.Craig is the newest member of the Navy Seal team dubbed the "Saint Squad". He is still trying to find his place among this tight knit group of men. Craig is a defender. He takes his jobs seriously and he is dedicated. He just oozes all strong man, all the time.Sienna and Craig meet when Craig thinks he is saving her from a stalker guy on the beach. Oops, wasn't a stalker, but Sienna is impressed with Craig and asks for his help with her upcoming movie. I enjoyed the growing relationship between Craig and Sienna. It had a natural flow to it even though the circumstances were anything but normal.This book is a romantic suspense. It's not heavy on the suspense so even a "won't read scary" girl like me can read and enjoy it thoroughly.Content: Clean! No swearing or sexual content. LDS fiction- some religious elements mentioned as the characters are LDS but nothing preachy.
