2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. Pleasant-enough read but was short like a novella By dlblanch Story had a plot that showed promise but was convoluted and just a bit far-fetched. Also characters need work. Misty was not very interesting. There wasn't enough length of story to invest in the characters. They're like bland vanilla pudding--sweet but boring. It was overall a quick read. It wasn't terrible, but the story ended with extremely insipid dialogue from Misty to David, which was enough for me to decide not to pursue the rest of the series. It was just smarmy enough to be off-putting.
0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. but it's got an interesting mystery and characters I'd like to read more about By mychellem When a local artist is found murdered, there are a number of suspects including the husbands of the women who modeled for his nude mermaid paintings (even though the finished work doesn't bear much resemblance to the real life women) and the man who's trying to buy his valuable piece of real estate. This is a very short read, but it's got an interesting mystery and characters I'd like to read more about.

Don't know if I would have continued reading the series if I had read them in order. Book two was better. Liked book one. It introduced good characters and locale. I will be reading book three !
