Not just because I am a noir fan, because I am, but because Ms Pawlish is such a great author. The plots are engaging, the pacing keeps you involved, even the locale plays a significant role. But one of the best features is that the characters evolve. And this book takes us to one of the biggest steps we take in life, ones wedding. But knowing Reed, of course he trips over an engaging case on the way to the alter.Ms Pawlish has been incredibly prolific, especially in the past year. I've begun to wonder if she has a bunch of trolls chained to keyboards in her garage. But no matter, even if it's trolls, The Postman Always Brings Dice is a terrific book that holds your interest from beginning to end. If you like mysteries with a solid plot, engaging characters, set in a memorable locale, but aren't a fan of violence or crass language, you'll love this book. And for that matter, the whole series.Even if she does enslave trolls.

Wilmot Reed Ferguson mysteries are about the plot and the characters rather than violence, gore or explicit language so common in other books. In The Postman Always Brings Dice our hero is in a race against time to solve a murder in which he is one of the suspects. Author Renee Pawlish deftly balances the suspense with comic moments and plot twists that keep you turning one more page. I am recommending it to all my mystery-reading friends.

Another Reed for your collection By Annabele Meet Reed Ferguson, a private detective with a love for Bogie's Sam Spade, he tries to emulate all things Bogie which runs through the entire series. We then meet the love of his life Willie. After so many books in this series, the wedding of Reed and Willie is finally here, and as is typical of so many weddings (not mine thankfully ), Willie has turned into a mini version of Bridezilla, poor Reed!Caught in the eye of tempest Bridezilla-Willie, Reed can't help but try to find any way to escape the storm. Then like a wish come true from his beloved Sam Spade (it's his ring tone) the phone rings with a last minute case. Deflate here and bring back reality with another "Poor Reed."This last minute case unfortunately for Reed, involves his ex-girlfriend Alicia. A fact that opens the door to an even greater tempest from storm Willie. She will have to deal with so many last minute wedding preparations by herself, needless to say, she isn't happy about it.One of the best things I love about this series is how the ends tie off, especially how it doesn't cliffhanger drag you down. The only thing to link one book to the next is the lives of the main characters, developing and deepening their relationship with each new book.I can't wait to see what sort of case will fall into Reed's lap and disrupt the honeymoon [insert wicked evil maniacal laugh here].
