Very creative concepts By Diana Part 1 of Arctic Station Bears - This story has very different concepts of shifters, their capabilities, and the ability to kill them than in any book I have read prior. I enjoyed the creativity in the story-line and the twists and turns that left me wondering where the story was going to go next. I found the story to be jumpy and a few times I felt that I had to fill in the blanks of the story where it was difficult to tell if the chapter was really happening in the story or if it was a character dreaming or remembering something that happened.Serious cliffhangers at the end of the story! I was not sure about the series after this one, but was happy I kept reading when I finished part 3.I received this story free in exchange for an honest opinion.

Ex boyfriend Oliver, brings Dr. Alanna MacCready in to help with the new research. But things are not as they seem. What or who they found in the Ice and what starts happening at the station is pure chaos. Great first installment to the series.

Things to improve, but still a good book for .99 cents if simple 'whodunnit' stories interest you By Anon I knew exactly what I was getting into and I wasn't disappointed. That said I would like to critique one minor aspect of the authors structure of the mystery, throughout the story there are moments where the author attempts to make you question the motives of characters that have been clearly characterized as friendly/not likely the killer and are backing everything that Debra does. The issue with this is the suspense that the author is trying to build or the things the author is trying to do to maybe throw your perception off momentarily almost never works because the characters allegiances were built too strongly too early on. Ex : the prologue characters go to bat with each other briefly while examining the video evidence that will reveal the killer in just moments, was I really supposed to be thrown for a loop moments before the killer is revealed when these two have been working to resolve the mystery since chapter 1?Despite the above issue the book was good and I think it fits the target audience well but there are places for the author to improve.

David Archer has a knack for putting together a true mystery without all the foul language, sex, and gore that permeate so many current books. The hero does some pretty dumb things sometimes, but he's a lovable character and it all fits into the plot. The story deserves 5 stars, but I downgraded the book to 4 stars due to the many typos I found while reading this book.

After reading both Frank and Earnest (might be off on title as haven't used kindle before writing a review, so afraid will lose if back track with lack of being very techy) 5 book box set and Sam P. 4 book set in one 6 day vacation in Cuba. The Sam series is much better in my opion as took me first 4 books before realised F&E set in 70s and character portrayed within chapter could change and take paragraphs to catch on then would re-read to try to figure how went. Both sets had many editing errors with wrong words or words out of order but easy enough to figure out. The Kill List didn't have any errors that I noticed which could mean none or hundreds that I missed as read along? The editing much better in The Kill List. Next Reacher? no I don't think so, closer to Konrath's Jack Daniel's series but not as many laugh out loud moments, maybe Harry McGlade can make a cameo, that be awesome! Enough things brought back up so almost need to read in order or past books will have endings spoiled. Looking foward to next book when it will find it's way on to my kindle with Sam searching for a resurfaced Vietnam MIA.

I love that Sam is a manly tough guy who always does the right thing, he loves the Lord, and his family. Can't wait to read more.

By Kaylene Osborn Krinos (Take Over Book 1)Krinos is an interesting story which follows Eliza or as most people know her Krinos who's being prepared by her father to take over the family drug business. She's a feisty alpha female if there is such a thing and she's prepared to do whatever it takes. She meets hot as hell Stefanos, who for the most part rocks her world. Stefanos also becomes very smitten, very quickly with the bad ass Krinos. Krinos is her father's daughter and she has no qualms about the fact that she will become boss of the "business”.This story contains violence, drugs and sex. It is an interesting story and is a nice quick read. It’s only Book One of the Take Over Series by T.L. Smith but does not end on a cliff hanger although there is more to come I am sure. I read this book pretty much in one sitting and found it a great read. I gave this book 5 stars.Kalon (Take Over Book 2)Kalon, is the second book in the Take Over series. It continues where the first book finished and is the story of Eliza (Krinos) and Stefanos, her Greek God.Krinos, is a tough woman, very tough and she really shines through in this portion of the story. We are introduced to a number of new characters, which all add to the intrigue of the story line. It also shows a softer side to Krinos, although she would hate for me to say that.Who wouldn't love Stefanos? He really is a Greek God in all ways. He's definitely one of my current book boyfriends. Just love his dominant and demanding ways.This is a very quick read, but I loved it. I absolutely cannot wait for the third installment. I give this book five stars.Kratos (Take Over Book 3)Kratos is written in Stefanos’ point of view and most definitely does not disappoint. This story just gets better and better and this book completes the Take Over Series. It gives a little background of the young Stefanos and then continues on from book two.I love Stefanos’ point of view, it shows how he changes into the man he is, once he meets Eliza or his “Princess”. Book three takes on a different path when finally Stefanos becomes Eliza’s Kratos.Although this is a short novella, it packs a punch and I thoroughly recommend the final book. I give this book a five star rating and cannot wait for more books by T. L. Smith.

By Tanja Silvanus is on edge. he’s feeling like he’s lost a lot of power since Tucker stood up to him. since the pesky ranger found himself a mate he’s been stronger, luckily not realizing how strong he really could be. still it all unsettled Silvanus. that’s until he came across a beautiful woman at the park, she had his cougar belly up the moment they saw and smelled her. but being against humans (unlike tucker) he battles internally with his desire to be near her. convincing himself he has to stay away and has to find the girl he imprinted on as a young boy. only Gabs is able to help him because she’s the only other one who figured out he was the cougar that saved them when they were young. Gabs is reluctant to tell who her friend is but when she does reveal who she is and that she’s even in town, silvanus is thrown for a loop. his cougar being the smarter one, he already figured out that Hailey was theirs. how will he get back into her good graces having been rather rude to her? how will he come clean about who and what he really is?the local bad boy may have found his match. only his standing up for her makes his pack exile him. will he turn from town bully to the town outcast? will he be able to let hailey see the real him? how will the others react to the big change in silvano?you’ll enjoy this read if you have read the first one!!free copy gifted in exchange for an honest review.

Ember picks up right just where Spark ended, but with the introduction of Hailey. Back in town for her grandfather’s funeral, Hailey has been gone since a traumatic childhood incident 20 years ago. Now she is expected to take over running her grandfather’s diner, for which everyone in town seems to warn her to watch out for the local gang of thugs. Brock Silvanus is the leader of those “thugs” and uses intimidation to keep his Alpha status among the townsfolk and his pack of panther shifters. Then a chance encounter with Hailey brings to light their shared history and the fact that she is his mate. Now he has to prove himself to her, yet somehow retain his status as intimidating alpha, but not let her delve too deeply into the secrets of the past…Yeah, that really doesn’t work out they way Brock planned! Ember was a great, lose yourself in the characters, engaging story. The third book in the series will be calling my name upon release! I was given an ARC in exchange for my honest review.

By Theresa Pietrowski This takes the second book in this series and it start with Hailey coming back to her hometown for her grandfather's funeral. He was the owner of the only diner in town and he gave it to Hailey to run. Needing some air from a diner full of people stopping to pay their respect, Hailey wonders outside. There she meets a kind stranger, Brock Silvanus. But the next day he comes into the diner and is very rude and trying to take over the diner, like everyone tried to tell her at the funeral yesterday. But Hailey stands up to him, telling him she makes the rules and if he did not like it he could leave. Silvanus is losing his touch with his town and the people. He decides to find his mate if he wants to stay in charge and regain his strength. This is a great series to read on those long rainy weekend, with a cup of hot chocolate by you side, love it.I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

The cover alone wins five stars, and the story inside side deserves the rating as well.One of the greatest virtues of the story is that the characters were so well done I sometimes forgot they were "woodland creatures" and yet I still saw them in my mind as the fox or as the bear or whatever animal the characters happened to be.I also appreciated the author's smart use of language.I received an ARC in return for an honest review.

Shipley Gotta love a small town rocked by murder. …so long as it’s all fiction, of course!I was more or less raised on Sherlock Holmes and Hercule Poirot, so when I was offered an ARC of this novel pitched as “Agatha Christie + Beatrix Potter = dapperly dressed animals commit and solve crime”, I was in. (Besides, the book’s cover is just five kinds of fantastic!)The story of “Shady Hollow” is much like the town from which the title takes its name—cute and quirky, fluffy and fun, with a touch of ominous darkness lurking in the quiet corners. Though the frequent rehashing and mulling over of the mystery’s details felt repetitious at times, things were never so dull that I didn’t push ahead, still eager to find out whodunit and why, while enjoying the narrative’s mild wit along the way. I had my eye on a few characters as my number one (and, y’know, two and three) suspects, but in the end, the killer slipped past me. I’d feel more of a failure, but hey – our investigative fox protagonist was kept guessing, too!If you’re in the mood for a little light murder with a bit more fur and feathers than usual, you may wanna get your paws on this one.

I've never read a book quite like this. The idea of talking animals in an adult mystery is so, so terrific, and the characters here are well-drawn and fun to read about (my favorites were the snake and owl). Oh, and such clever wordplay! All in all, very charmed by this unusual story.
